This painting of a Native American Brave was inspired by a photograph by Harmon Parkhurst. Santa Domingo Pueblo -Khe-wa -Holy Sunday. With a little research I found a photo of a blanket with a similar design in blue colors which led me to this color theme. I strive for my portrayals to be accurate and beautiful and to my mind cannot be painted or reproduced enough to remind us of our history.
